Default RE: Transporting a Firearm

ORIGINAL: jeremyd2012

i want to take my gun to show my grandpa but is there anything i have to worry about? I will be crossing into these states: Starting Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas.
There is a federal law that protects citizens from state laws when they are transporting a firearm across other states. Essentially, what it says is that yoiu can legally transport across states, if the possession of the firearm in question is legal in the state where your trip started, and at the destination of your journey. So it is certainly a good idea to carry the firearminaccessibly, unloaded, in a locked gun casein a place like the locked trunk of your vehicle. Also a good idea to carryno ammo with you.
