I see no point in nursing a deer to health, spending all that money, then releasing it back into the wild for what? So it can live a couple more years? Theres a lot of deer around. Wouldn't waste money and time on that.

Case in point.......
When I lived in Charleston, SC.....I was throwing my cast net, one morning.....trying to catch some mud minnows to use for bait .....to catch trout and reds. So.....I am admiring one particular drag....really heavy.....because I have a 27" red in my cast net! So.....here's the irony.....I throw the fish back.......so I can catch more little ones.....so I can use them to try to catch one like I just threw back.
We do some dumbass things, us outdoorsmen. My cave great, great, great-grandfather would have slapped me.
That was a smart move anyway. In SC you could have been fined, had your truck and all of your equipment taken and locked up if the judge chose to do so. SC can be very serious about their gamefish, especially those they try to protect with earnest...such as the Spottail Bass/Red Drum/Puppy Drum...or whatever those in other places choose to call them. It's illegal to take them with a cast net or gig.
