Default RE: My feet freeze

ORIGINAL: HNI_Christine

I just want you guys to know that I think you are all sissies. (Except for Al)

I used to hunt and trap in temps down to -30 F in just gym shoes. Never could find a decent pair of gloves to fit so I just went without. Builds character.

Justin made me feel guilty for hunting in gym shoes so I bought a pair of 800 gram thinsulateLacrosse alpha burlys. Those puppies are warm. If it's really, really cold, I'll put in a hand warmer packin my boots. Gives my toes something to play with if nothing else.[8D]

Anyhow for you sweaty footed people, I've heard that applying an anti-perspirant to the bottoms of your tootsies will help keep them dry and hence, warmer.
It's worth a shot.
i had to think back to when i was 12 to 18,hunted with dad/uncles driving deer all day.

i thought at first, my feet must have been warm, NO THEY WERE NOT..
this is why i always asked to be put on drive, not watch.
i also ice fished all day, 10 hrs,6 days a week and my feet froze..i used to start a fire on ice too...

back then the only rubber boot made was BALL-BAN boot.

leather boots, no one wore them...

back then you could start a fire in woods, did that a lot to get your feet warm....

to this day my feet get COLD even when temps are above 30 ..
i use the LACROOSE alpha burlys 1500 grams....

i never saw anyone in 50 yrs use sneakers to ice fish, trap or hunt..
learn something everyday.[:-]
