I know that doe fawns can be bred their first year, not always, but possible. What I was getting at is shooting mature doe will drop numbers next year while shooting doe fawns will not, just might not add.
What if she was a barren doe and not bred anymore. In that case your doing an injustice to the herd by taking doe fawns and not her. In a matriach family of does I'll always target the oldest biggest doe rather than the fawns.
