The first thing you need to do is collect as much knowledge as you can. This site is a great place to start. For one killing a turkey is a hard thing to do. They are very tough to hunt. Yes you must have a good patterning gun and one that will deliver a killing shot. Almost every turkey hunter I know has a good shooting gun with a turkey choke for there gun.
