Default RE: New Jersey BRUISERS !!!!

Some people are just happy to get a deer.
True.

However, my "beef" was with the countless fools we encounter that pound young bucks and then complain that there are no big ones. [/blockquote]

Again Drop...........I have never encountered this even one time in 20 years.
False, at least for me.

+.........you are the minority in my talks with PA guys, not the other way around.
Count me as 51. Antler restrictions have changed the way, some of the people that USED TO "pound the smaller bucks" and wonder why there where no big ones around. All it has taken for a few of the ones that I know is a little time in the woods or a trail camera to see that there is a better age class of bucks in our woods now and it is improiving. I hunt my private land, but it is bordered by state on three sides and I am often scouting across borders and finding hunters that are experiencing the same change in age/quality of bucks they are seeing/ taking.

An orange army lined the road ready for a drive, as we drive by on a state road, I slow as to not speed by anyone and we are gauked at like we're doing something wrong.
um 864 Rob?

AR's have increased the number of bucks though the doe numbers are down.
This is what the bucks need to get bigger. I like seeing deer, but I like seeing better deer rather than 100 mismanaged deer. With a better buck to doe ratio, comes healther bucks after the rut heading into the winter. And better buck health in the winter sends them into the spring even better and so on and so on.

I agree. It really gets bad on those two Saturdays. I believe that ARs have also made the woods safer. A few years ago, on mob hunt Saturday, hunters didn't have to worry about identifying their targets for points. Now it forces them to.
