I read about ,I believe, somewhere in Texas there is a herd of them. I'll have to do some digging and see what I come up with.
This I find hard to believe. You cannot breed melanistic deer. They are more rare than albinos or just white deer. Black or melanism is more rare than albino and much, much more rare than white. It's a color phase and you could breed thousands and thousands of deer hoping to get one bred correctly, a herd...to quote Jerry Seinfeld. "I don't think so".
