Default RE: savings of diy it or the cost of supplys

ORIGINAL: bigtim6656

ok i have seen a few post about how to butcher how diys it or drops it off
but is it realy cost effative to diy it when it comes to deer.
heres what i figure it would take me to get the stuff to do it myself
how many of you have spent hundrads or even thousands

Stainless steel work table 200
Good grinder 200
Nice knife kit 50.00
Sausage stuffer 100
Meat slicer 100.00
Good digital scale 50.00
Meat tub 19.99
Smoker 200.00
Cutting boards 40.00
Vacuum sealer I have

Total 960.00
It would tke12 deer at 85 a deer to make it back

Option equipment
Meat band saw 400
Dieghtrater be it a few small modes or big one 150.00
Total 1510
At 85 dollars a deer it would take me 18 deer to make that back

I think I could get everything I need for around 500 if I cut some corners but I would not wont to work with less because then you must by cheaper equipment which would break sooner

I plan to do it myself I plan o have a good supply of what I need for next year

But I am not doing it to save money but because I wont to and think everyone should at least know how

So how much do you guys spend to save the cost for the butcher is it really a cost saving method?
Your nuts! A knife, a #32 grinder and some freezer bags. The grinder was 50 bucks. I do on average 6 deer a year. I use the kitchen.

With all that stuff you forgot a room addition. Tack on a good 25g for that.
