Ever since my shooting table fell down ive had to use either logs stacked up or use the side of a tree/ tree branch. Not the best, but its what i use when hunting so its best to practice off that. Of course you want to use the best steady rest thats available when sighting in a gun for the first time. So i'll stack up a big log thats flat and put my walmart $28 rifle rest on it Gotta make do with what you have.
