Cleaning TC Encore
It took me 477 shots and three years, but I was finally able to get my gun on paper today. It was raining, but I finally got the damn thing to hit the target. I was pumped.
I had issues with the sights (on 2 barrels) where I could raise or lower the sights to the maximum and minimul elevation with the same loads, but no matter what, it kept hitting 15 inches above the target. I had to lower my loads to 1 50 grain 777 pellet and a 180 gr bullet to get the bullet to drop enough at 100 yards to hit the paper.
Still can't get my Omega's point of aim high enough, the exact opposite problem.I am up to 180 grains of lose powder (777) and a 180 gr bullet, but still keep putting the bullet into the ground about 4 feet before the target. The sights are irrelevant. All the way up, or all the way down, the point of impact never changes.
Now my question, now that I can get this thing to hit the target, should I be worried about taking it apart and cleaning it? Will it be able to get back on target?
This has frustrated me and many friends for years now. I can hit everything with their guns, (Omegas and Encores) but NOBODY can hit with mine. We have all had the same problems with my guns, just couldn't get them on paper.
I am heading out on a hunting trip this Sunday and want to take the Encore, but am afraid to clean it. It's very dirty, I fired 30 rounds today, and it was just a pourdown.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
John
