i too have killed hogs with my Ruger 10/.22 at close range. Have also killeda lot ofcoyotes with the same gun because it was what was in my hands when the coyote popped up. Having said that, the .22 rimfire is not really acoyote killer extraordinaire. Most of my coyotes were shot with a .22 Hornet and a .223.
