Alot of these people are cranking the weights up too because ofthe highlet off these compounds have these days. I'm just going off of what the guys I know that shoot compound's tell me.
Great point Schultzy, even with the 80% let off, and my bow set at 68lbs...I'll admit I find myself getting a little fatigued after a round of 3d. That is why I am going to drop 5-6 lbs.
I agree with ya! There really isn't much need to be shooting 68lbs. Shooting 60lbs will get the job done any day of the week for ya.The reason I shoot 73lbs with my recurve is to get as much energy behind that arrow I can being i'm shooting a recurve. The next recurve or long bow I get won't be as heavy though or at least itwon't stack as bad as mine now. I find myself every now and then short drawing due to the heavy poundage i'm shooting. I know what your saying about shooting 3-D too, every year in June we go to a traditional shoot in Coon Rapids, Minnesotaand shoot 3 rounds of which there are 20 targets per round. My arms are shaking usually the last 5 to 6 targets. I'm guessing you don't live to far from there!
