I have to admit, the biggest buck I saw last year while bow hunting busted me as I was pulling my bow up after climbing the tree. It was just before first shooting light. I ALWAYS survey the surroundings the best I can before I hoist up or lower whatever I'm hunting with. On this occasion, I failed to spot the buck approx 40yds away.

My gut feeling was he was watching me climb trying to figure out what I was or what I was doing and once he saw my bow "floating" thru the air, he got too frazzled and decided to scoot.
