I share with you our experience from last year and this year in IL. We hunt public land and one small farm. Last year when we arrived the farm still had standing beans that were brown. We hunted the farm in the evenings. The deer started pouring into the fields about an hour or so before dark. I could hear them popping the beans as they ate them. It sounded like rice crispies in a bowl of milk when I was a kid!
When we arrived this year, the beans had all been cut on the farm except for a bit around the edges and in a couple of the corners. The deer were still coming out into the fields, but they came out at least a half hour later than last year.
Both years we were hunting the last few days of October and the first 5 or 6 days of November.
