Default RE: Whats the Feeling on Savages?

BTW, 2 of my 4 Savage rifles will shoot 1/2" groups with more than one load. One will shoot 1.3" to 1.5" groups at 300 yards depending on me.

The other two are about 3/4" shooters and an occasional 1" group at 100 yards.

Savage accuract isn' t a myth. The myth that it is a myth seems to be propogated by people who feel they must spend 4 times as much on a rifle. I can' t argue with you on fit or finish - but I personally could care less what a rifle looks like.
I' ve seen DOZENS of Savage rifles that shot just as good as any Remington and far better than factory Winchesters and Rugers. The sort of snappy responses from Mnhunter and bigcountry are pretty much what I have come to expect any time a discussion of Savage accuacy comes up.

The heavy barreled variants of the 110 Action are the most accurate rifles I' ve ever shot.

Several have challenged me - they' ve all lost too. One of these days I' ll meet my match - but I' m holding my own for now.

Oh yeah, a BTW - 2000 shots on a 116 in .270 Winchester and the old fisher price gun can still can put 3 in 3/4" Nary a misfire, feeding problem, extraction problem, or lost game animal either.
