RE: Whats the Feeling on Savages?
It should be noted bigcountry that you are paying as much for a stock as a complete Savage rifle. Nothing wrong with that but I just wanted to point out that you are starting with a $500 rifle, then spending $500 to rebarrel it, and another $350 on the stock. That' s cool, but there SHOULD be a big difference in a $1300+ custom rifle and a $350 off the shelf gun. I seriously doubt the person posing the original question was pondering buying a Savage or spending more than a grand on a tricked out M70.
BTW, the shells popping out is from too stong a floorplate spring and can be fixed for about $5 and 5 minutes of time. Mine have never done that but I have seen a few that would.
