Default RE: goose hunting fields

This is not set in stone but.... On cold days, the geese will eat in the yellow fields (meaning grain). They need high yield foods to keep them warm. They will usually go to feed twice a day when it is cold.

On warm days they eat in the green fields (winter wheat and the like). On those days, they seem to only feed once. They tend to stay out all day and loaf in the fields where they are feeding.

A good indicator of where to look is by watching your park geese. They will help you predict the future weather. If the birds are staying in the park and eating all day, the weather will probably be warm with little to no moisture. If the park geese are going out to feed, you can bet there is a front on the the way.

Hope that helps.
