I would suggest the 10/22. This rifle will be accurate enough out of the box and can be accessorized to the gills. You can go from standard rifle to insane in just a few minutes usually without any smithing! As for the punch power, remember every rifle has its ownlimitations as do the hunters that use them. I hear of people using 10/22 rifles to hunt boar here in Florida. This once again tells us that shot placement is much more important than most any factor we are faced with. Yes this gun is more than capable of takingcoyotes but just remember youhave limitations, ex. energy at range....a .22mag would step it up for you but im not sure on the costs of mags to .22's. I know you can pass on that McDonalds value meal for the week, buy a box of .22 ammo and shoot for days
