I can' t comment on the winchester, I' m sure it is a fine rifle.
I have a 700 VSSF, in .22-250, and I think you' d have a hard time finding a more accurate gun...no matter what make. It will shoot a 1 hole, 1/4" group (5 shots)at 100 yds, with factory loads. I topped it with a Leupold, had the trigger done, and most groundhog' s within 500 better watch out. My buddy has the exact same gun and it is a tack driver too. Can' t complain about the 700 at all.
