Default RE: Hunting with your 3D rig??

i shoot 3d with my hunting bow

i have mixed feelings about competitive shooting....im 20 and still dont know how i feel about it. ive been shootin guns since i was 3...i learned to shoot a gun before i could do much else...now, im just a "natural" shooter. gimme something to shoot and i'll have it doin what it does in no time...weather its a shotgun busting clays, or shooting a pretty little group with a rifle, or shooting pistols, or now, shooting my bow...im not tooting my own horn...i know im far from the best...but im far from the worst...and with dedication and real training and practice, ive been told i could probably let my shooting "take" me places...dad says its my "gift" and i need to persue it in one way or another...

i LOVE to shoot...have a bad day at work, i head to the range with a couple boxes of shells..or grab the bow and fling some arrows. if you feed me ammo i will shoot all day...if my shoulder didnt get sore, id fling arrows all day every day...i just love it...

to me, its like the infamous "make hunting your career" posts...i know, first off id need the opprotunity, but if i wanted it, i feel i could make it realistic with time and money weather its firearms of some sort or shooting bow competetions...but if i had the chance, i dont know if id take it...i love it...but i seen WAY to many expert professional shooters burn out and not enjoy what they do...my highschool shop teacher shot pistol and indoor 3 position 22 competition...he was world class...long story short, i got to watch him fire his small bore rifle for the last time ever...

so i dont have that decision...i goto 3d shoots for the heck of it...to have fun with the buddies...to practice for hunting...and because i love to shoot..

maybe one day i'll try persuing competetively shooting something...but i dont know..watching my shop teacher QUIT doing what he absolutely loved kinda...opened my eyes...and hes not the only competition shooter i know that quit what he loved...if i quit shooting and hunting what do i have left? take up golf? i really dont know...thats what holds me back..
