DK...Personally, I never shoot deer in the shoulder, regardless of what others claim. If ican get it, I'll shoot for the neck if the shot is within 100 yds. and the deer is not moving. Otherwise, I'll shoot it behind the shoulder in the boiler room. Have never lost a deer shot that way. And, by the way I simply love my 7-08.
