Man that sucks. Sorry to hear that.
As for me I've had an eventful 2 days. Thursday evening went out for an hour or so after work. Not 45 seconds from leaving the truck I see a deer, wide open 30 yds(I have the slug gun) Pull up, check for buttons and squeeze the trigger. Instead of the thunderous boom and big kick, I get a "crack" and almost no kick. Deer trots off unharmed. All clues point to only the primer going off. [:@]At least it wasn't a big buck. I had a mix of old an new slugs, and was using my old ones. Well they will now be retired.
Friday half day of work and then head to the woods, new slugs this time. See a few deer and even a decent buck, but can't get any shots.(ridiculously thick area)Finally a big doe comes sneaking thru the woods. I'm sitting in a ladder stand and she's to my right. Can't spin for a shot, so I shoot her left handed.

Despite a perfect lung shot with copper solids she managed to go 70-75 yds with a blood trail that was3ft wide.
So I'm down to 2 more doe tags, and a buck tag. I skipped out on our last day of gun season today, I can still archery hunt for does until Xmas, then bucks come back in after that. I may use that time to scout for a buck for the late season. The deer are really in my one spot, thanks to the landowner tossing everyone but me and a couple other select few from the property. I've got a good feeling going into this spot. I had previously written it off, but the snow really revealed a lot of good deer activity and I found one nice HUGE solo deer track. Betting its a nice buck.
