RE: Good slug gun?
I would argue with Paul Mohr about "better". There are definately more expensive slugguns, but what defines "better". If better means more accurate and great trigger I would defend the H&R... It is the most accurate shotgun I have ever shot... I have not shot a Tar-hunt though. I throw my money around a loton my hunting equipment and have no need to chose anything other than the H&R for a slug gun. It looks great in my opinion and the fit/finish is first rate. To me there is no "better" slug gun.
Just so you don't think I am blowing smoke my other weapons are as follows:
Deer Rifle = Kimber Longmaster Classic
Varmint Rifle = Rock River Arms Varminter
Note that these are semi-custom; I feel like I receive value with these weapons. I cannot see any "value" in another slug gun other than the H&R.
I have a problem with labeling something based on price. Just because it is more expensive doesn't make it "better"...
