I don't like the 30-30, I don't like leverguns, and I don't have much use for a levergun in a handgun cartridge. If I wanted to limit myself to a cartridge and gun with similar capabilities to a win-94 in 30-30, I'd use a SKS in 7.62x39. I guess I'm not sentimental, a traditionalist, or like to do things the way 'granddad did them'
He's not bashing anything, he just doesn't like levers or the 30-30. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. I'm not sure what he means by limiting himselfto a cartridge or a gun but I'm sure he has his reasons. I like the 30-30 and for the type of hunting I do it fills the bill.
