I live in and hunt in north Florida where we have 30 and up to 90 thousand acre tracts of land to hunt. We are without a doubt very lucky to have such large tracts of land down here. But everybody that hunts with dogs should be held accountable for their actions. I am a still hunter and a dog hunter. I don't agree with the *******s that try and create problems on either side of the table. In Taylor county there are plenty of GFC officers out that will bust your tell if you let your dogs get on property that they are not supposed to be on. Please don't let the bad ones give you guys the opinion that we are all like the trouble makers because that is not the case at all.
Yes they will write you a ticket in a heartbeat, a 500 dollar ticket! I am a die-hard doghunter in Taylor County Floridatoo and we never have problems like these because we dont hunt small acreage as stated above. You have to have 1,000 continous acres to run dogs legally inFlorida and i am sure some regulation will bebrought to Virginia.
On behalf of deerdog hunters, i wanttoapologize for fellow doghunters whoruin your hunting and not all doghunting is conducted in this manner. I cannot remember the last time our dogswere off the hunting club property in many years, and because of disrespectful doghunters like this all doghunters will pay for it.
