I've got a Marlin 1894 in .44mag and a Win. 94 in 30/30. Killed a dozen or so deer with both of them. Never had a runner with either of them. Overall, I'd probably give the nod to the 30/30, but there's just something about seeing that 240gr JHP hit the side of a deer...
