my uncle shoots a .280, a .270, and a .260, all remington's... he shoots the .280 the least of the bunch, primarily a back-up gun for him, uses the .260 the most as most shots he takes are in the sub-200 range... when he's somewhere with 200+yd shots he takes the .270... i shot his 280 this year just for giggles, i liked it, nice gun, but wouldn't trade my 7mag for it... .270 would be my choice personally....
