Jeff:
I'm not sure if it would have a place in your room, but I'm thoroughly impressed with the log siding that I used in my cabin. If you have a place for it it's so easy to work with and reasonably priced. I paid .40 a foot for this stuff througha local logger that has his own mill, I know he had 6" wide stuff available as well. I ended up having to butt up a lot of the sections for the back wall because I had a lot of cutoff end pieces and was WAY over budget on this already........Iwould have done this differently if it weren't simply a hunting cabin, but other than this I love the stuff and the way it turned out. Maybe this would be a good option for the wall section you were planning to put your mounts on?
Here is the interior of my cabin that is pretty much done as of a few weeks ago (finally!!).
