My dad also shot a deer about 8 years ago with is bow, it ran about 80 yards and fell, he could hear it. He waited 1/2 hour and went down his tree and over tot he deer, he found a guy who was dressing it out, he had and arrow in the haunch of the deer, the guy said that the deer was walking around when he shot it in the *ass. Like that shot would have killed it. my dad let the guy take the deerr because he did not want any trouble..it was thew third biggest deer my dad had shot...outside ears 8 pointer
