Sept. 06' I did my first outwest Colorado archery Elk hunt. I planned it for 3 yrs, and decided on Winterhawk Outfitters. I can tell you I had a fabulous time. I wasn't successful, came close on a nice 5x5. Saw plenty of Elk. I'm alreadly booked for Sept. 08' with them, and can't wait to get back. Its a western style horseback/mule hunt. Its not easy, but very rewarding. I had a great time. They are a first rate family run outfit. You may have seen a few hunting shows with them. Jay Gregory of Wild Outdoors has had couple hunts on tv with them. The Outfitters Journal also had a show with them. Other big names like Babe Winkleman, and Lee Lakoski have hunted there.
