Over the last 5 years or so, the DNR has made a concerted effort to reduce the deer population. They has done this by allowing liberal doe kills. This has significantly reduced the overall deer population. I used to hunt a lot in Wirt County. 5-7 years ago, it was nothing to see 30-40 deer a day. Now you are lucky to see 5-6 in a day. The population has definitely went way down. But thats what happens when you are allowed to take several does in a single season.
