If i dont make a complete pass through is it very tough to track the deer i've heard they don't bleed very well and it's very tough to track one i'm shooting 51lb. draw.will that do a pass through.I'm new at bow hunting and dont know very much so need help. And can i shoot expandables with 51lb draw?
Well welcome to bow hunting then!!! First of all if you shoot a deer directly underneathe your stand and it doesn't pass thru...it might be hard to track with minimal blood trail. At the same time though, as a few guys have stated, the broadhead is still cutting things up internally as the deer runs. Secondly, if you hit one in the vitals and it doesn't pass through, don't worry... you will still have a nice blood trail (most of the time) to track it down. And for 51lb draw, I would use a fixed 3 blade 85 grain broadhead (NAP Thunderhead). This should help lighten up your arrow a bit and give you a bit more speed to possibly get those pass throughs as well as better penetration. Good luck to you!!
