Just remembered another detail. This was the first time I've ever fired a shot with the muzzle of the gun covered! I decided it would probably be a good idea to put a small balloon over the muzzle when we were getting ready to go hunting and my son was playing with balloons from a package my wife got him. He selected me a couple green ones (green is his favorite color) for good luck, and I put one over the muzzle. Never even thought of it until just a few minutes ago. Guess I'd better shop for a bag of green balloons for future wet-weather hunts.
