This afternoon i went hunting up here in st lawrence county , Ny and it was soo damn remarkable i am still stunned. I got to the spot i was hunting at about 2:00 pm this afternoon and within 15 minutes there where 2 does out in the field . I watched them eatfor about 30 minutes and they never knew i was there. Shortly after 30 minutes 6 more does came out and they fed together for about 15 more minutes , not a one of them knew i was there , (wind was in my face). Now it was about 3:30 and it seemed that something scared them off , but they came back about 3 minuteslater. When they all came back out i seemed to have called in a 4 point that i missed on earlier last week. I went to look at him through my scope but the whole thing was fogged up , i cleaned it off on both ends and nothing . I couldn't see even the slightest of a deer figure through my scope , he was 155 years away. So here is where it gets interesting , he was walking do the does and running about them where i got the idea how to take him without being able to see him. He was walking back towards the does and i kept looking through my scope to see him , but nothing was there , then i looked at this huge tree he was 20 feet from and i aimed at the tree and said when he gets to that tree i am fireing , so i looked at the treee , then through the gun , then at the deer , back and forth till he was right at the tree and i fired , dropped the deer right there , with a perfect shot behind the shoulder , destroyed nothing but the heart. i was Estatic , and i still am , beautiful 165lb buck , not the biggest rack , but a very enjoyable hunt that i will never forget. the conditions where rain , sleet , snow on the ground , fog.
