Most of your brand name bows are good. They all make a starter bow, I think. Mathews may not, but they make great bows. Really, in bow can be a starter bow, it is how you set it up that counts. You need to go to your local archery shop and ask things such as , 1.how many feet per second can I expect? 2. What about torque and vibration? 3. How muchweight to pull? What's myDraw length? What about brace hieght? Do you want speed or quietness and more accuracy? The faster the bow, the less accurate you will be. I shoot a fast bow, it is not forgiving, however, Ive been shooting for well over 20+ years. Just things to think about when you go!!
