I work the grave yard shift in the wasatch mountains in ut, and i can say that deer activity definately increases. To get a deer to walk into your stand or just to find them moving around you best bet is very early and very late. mid day either glass and find them bedded, or worst of all bushwhack it and get lucky at that one curious small buck.
