Were the rubs fresh or old ones? I haven't seen many fresh rubs in my woods since the bucks started chasing does around. If they were not fresh, he might be long gone already in search of does. But if they are fresh, he might have just set up shop in your woods and is looking for a honey. If there is a concentration of rubs in there you might be in his safety zone, where he feels comfortable. Hunt it smart for a few days and see if he shows.
