Before you do it, there are 2 small rollers on the top limb, the yoke attachesto them. They make a noise about once a year and a shot of a spray lube (small) is all it takes. The problem will only make the noise the first time you draw it. After the first draw it's gone, but will come back after it sits a while.Your description does sound a little different though. Worth a try before you do anything.
I've been shooting a protec since 05 and have no pocket issues. It doesn't seem to me with the way they are designed that they need any lube, but could be.
