RE: Waterway buck
A waterway is a grassy patch out in the middle of a cornfield or beanfield. In my case corn. These waterways are used during excessively wet periods to help direct water away from fields. Most of the year they are dry and make excellent cover for game animals. The particular waterway my buck was in had grass approx. 2-2 1/2 feet high. This is uncommon around here because farmers usually bale or mow them down. Deer love this location. Actually, I saw a 140ish 8pt tending a doe in same spot yesterday morning.
