I would just love to hear the reason for this statement.

The 308 has been necked down to .243, .260, and 7mm. I'm sure there is a wildcat 270-08. As to not being comercialized, I think it is because it wouldn't really offer much.

The 260 Rem is .264"
The 7mm-08 is .284"
270 is .277" so it would fall right between the two rounds already commercially loaded.
