Default RE: Rifle Hunting = lesser quality deer ?

ORIGINAL: DropTine249

I did take a 160yard shot at a deer last Saturday

So, I am infavor of more traditional hunting methods and I feel that it also increases the quality of hunting because more deer get to "walk" during the previous seasons.

But, Im not anti-rifle, I just wouldnt take part in it. I THRIVE on the challenge of getting my quarry close and then making an ethical shot.

I dont bash rifle hunters, just wont take part in it.
So....where to start?
I can only assume you were using a muzzle loader for this 160 yard shot. Was is a flintlock? If not, its only a brass case away from being a rifle and FAR from "traditional" hunting methods. Speaking of traditional hunting methods, what do you consider traditional? Your inline ML capable of 200 yard shots or a slug gun almost capable of the same? How far do you think the average rifle shot is?

I would consider tradional a recurve bow or a spear. Theres the challenge you are THRIVING for. Will you take that challenge? I doubt it.

Seems to me you are just stirring the pot.
