To me, a compound bow is not traditional. And any gun is not traditional. A recurve or long bow is traditional.
What about the old flintlocks, would you consider those guns not traditional?
I mostly bowhunt, but do occasionally take the rifle and muzzleloader out more than a couple times each year. But just because I do gun hunt doesnt mean that I'm taking long shots. Most shots are still within "bowrange", under 40 yards. To say that one form of hunting is any better or more ethical than another isn't right. Every hunter is entitled to any form they wish, as long as it is according to their local laws.
