I know shot placement is everything- but I've trailed far more deer that were 25-06 shot than .270 shot. AND this comes down to shot placement. Too many old timers on my lease taking shots they shouldn't have at distances they shouldn't have because they felt the 25-06 had some magical power to reach out there and kill deer.
I can say the same thing about people reading too much O'connor and then thinking that the 270win is some magic cartridge that kills all game at all ranges,as long as the bullet touches the animal.
