Default RE: BigJ Puts One Down!

Way to Go BigJ....

I'm sure that buck is big bodied, you just dwarf him my friend. I didn't know you downed one but when I logged in I went straight to the Official Score Card to enter any newcomers...and shazzamm, there you be!

Nice buck and congratulations!
Thanks to all, I'm blown away!

Ya know Rob, I was posting this very thought to Germ on our team thread, Bucks never look that big with me in the picture. I know he's no slammer but he's a pretty big bodied deer. I had a time getting him into the back of my truck....well you know, maybe I had to strain a little.

If you look at him he has a very big head and neck for a young deer. While (as most of you know)I'm not a proponent of letting deer walk just for the sake of letting them grow bigger, I must admit this dude is a prime candidate because he has all the great characteristics you want to see in a young deer (I'm guessing 2.5). Great beam length, lots of space between tines with long tines and a good spread. With a few more years and more mass this dude would have been a slob.

But, I also believe in having fun and shooting what strikes my fancy at the time and this deer did just that...I couldn't be happier. I still have a buck tag and lots of doe tags so my season is not even close to over. I am going to hunt my honey hole to try and thin out some does and maybe even get a shot at a couple of true bruisers I've seen there as well.

Thanks again to all who posted.
