I agree with some of the other posts to an extent. I think ethics and game laws go hand in hand. If there is a game law on the books then it MUST be followed. Every time there is a ticket issued to a hunter It is just another nail in the coffin. It may be that it was a tresspassing violation. The person that was tresspassed against will no longer give anyone permission to hunt. I know because it has happened to me. I lost the right to hunt my favorite farm because someone else tresspassed. The quote was "they came in and shot my place up."
I am not sure the "blue laws" are to force anyone into church but more to respect those that go. I might be wrong on this but that Is what I get out of it. Is there a difference between spotlighting a big buck and forgetting to plug your gun? Yes. Do they both reflect poorly on us as outdoorsmen? I think so. Everyone makes mistakes and forgetting to plug a gun is an honest mistake. I just think in this day and age we have got to be careful not to make the wrong mistakes. I want my grandkids to be able to hunt.
