How far up do you beleive the lungs go in the rib cage? I always figured there were 3 inches or so below the top of the rib cage.
The lungs push up against the spine. IF shot under the spine you will cut the top lobes of the lungs, not necessarily deadly everytime depending on how many blood vessels you cut. It's however NOT a void area.
