Default RE: Thick, thick, thick

Just me, but I'll have a buddy with me that still has both his tags and I still have my second deer tag so we will be party hunting tomorrow (we're meat hunters first and sincewe bothhavested big does during bow, each a small buck during MLand today me the buck he offered the rack if I drop the big buck on his tag...now that's a good hunting buddy). Where abouts in the interlake are you from? Been doing most of my hunting this year north of Fisher Branch but I hear that they are really running around the Chatfield area (too bad I didn't scout that area this year). On my way home today, (about 3 this afternoon), a huge 5x5 (easy 160 typical), crossed the road at the "s" curve just south of Poplarfield. I saw the big buck that I described in the first post of this thread 3 times during ML season last year but not during rifle. I saw him for the first time during bow season so I decided to stay on him. I usually use a 7 mm mag or my .270during rifle seasonbut since he's in so deep I decided to keep using my ML for the 7mm would be useless in the deep thick stuff.Nothing like hunting the interlake area of our province eh? Hope you have a successful deer season.
