I've mentioned before he has been on the lease for 20 years. 5 years for me. And I am much more disappointed than mad. I have a very good relationship with the landowner. He has another tract of land, a little over 100 acres that he has hinted about letting me bow hunt. It is behind his house and he wants no guns there. It hasn't been hunted in 20 years. I'll be talking to him Saturday about an exclusive lease. He really likes the fact that I did some free electrical work in his barn and that I only bow hunt.
Sounds to m like you have your problem solved right there. Try you best to get those exclusive hunting rights to that place and keep it to yourself. Don't tell your BIL how good it is, or that it has not been hunted in 20 years, ect.

And if you continue to hunt down in the bottom on your current lease, then don't give your daily report to your BIL. I have had similar situation where alandowner has let me hunt his place, I saw a shooter but no shot, tell him what I saw, the next day he tells me he is hunting that stand in the evening. Kind of a crappy situation but thats whyI don't huntthat placeanymore.
