We don' t have anything quite that extravagant, but we have something close. One of the neighboring towns holds a Turkey seminar at a Sporting Club co-hosted by the NWTF and the CT DEP. There are raffles, information and seminars conducted by various people, ranging from professional guides/hunters to DEP wildlife biologists.

At lunch (which is hot and served on site) guys are allowed access to the shooting range. Various targets are free that day, and there are usually enough guys (and some gunshop owners) around to allow everybody to pattern their gun with various rounds.

There' s also usually a cabelas/bass pro proteam staffer there who lets us " investigate" all the new toys from the manufacturers.

Happens sometime towards the end of April, about 2 weeks before season.
