Its called the Rifleman, it, along with the VX-I are basically 1970's technology, at 2000's prices. Personally, if I was in the market for a ~$200 riflescope, I would buy a Nikon Buckmaster, or a Bushnell 3200. Click adjustments, Mulicoated optics yielding high light transmission, and a fast focus objective are important to me.
Referring to the Nikon Bukmasters or the Bushnell 3200 ..... That should say ... Click adjustments, FULLY Multicoated optics for 92 % transmission, and a fast focus Occular ( eyepiece ) ... the objective is the big bell end and they are not fast focus BUT they do have the side focus objective now.....
Best scopes for the money are the Nikon Buckmasters.... The new Monarchs are also nice.... I got the 4-16 x 42 and a 5 - 20 x 44 a little over a month ago ...... and I got them for a super price, but $ for $ I would stick with the buckmasters.
But if you are looking for economy prices , or you are on a budget , look at the Nikon prostaff. There is not a lot of $ difference between the scopes, but some people have a set amount and can't go an extra 25 - 50 $ ..... so the prostaff is the next best bet.
